My journey began after getting engaged in October 2010 with future wedding plans for October 2011.  I thought that I wanted to be a “skinny bride” and get in the best shape of my life, and started taking boot camps and tried to get more time in the gym if I wasn’t in boot camp. But with all the stress, parties, and the overall time it takes to plan the wedding, I couldn’t really devote myself to getting in shape. I was able to at least maintain my weight, so that come my wedding day, I fit perfectly into my dress.

Flash-forward to December 2011 when we finally planned our honeymoon to Hawaii for February 2012. I knew that I wanted to have a bikini-ready body and started taking Bar Method classes in January 2012. I wanted to try something totally different than gym/boot camp workouts, and boy, The Bar Method was the most challenging workout I had ever done in my life, honestly!

I truly believe that continuing to take these classes will be a great solution for a person like me; to actually be motivated to go workout and push myself far past my 100% effort, and achieve real results. Now, I take class 5 times per week, and walk our new dog for at least 30-45 minutes each day. Some people at work or in workout class who I haven’t spoken to before have commented on my weight loss, which also keeps me motivated. In total, I have lost about 15 lbs and a couple inches around both my waist and hips, and of course I feel much stronger and my clothes fit much better.  I comfortably fit into a medium rather than trying to suck in my stomach and squeeze into my clothes. I’m definitely addicted and will be sticking around for the long run!
